Occupational Therapy helps people to take part in meaningful day to day activities leading to an improved quality of life.
Occupational Therapists are registered health professionals who assist people to recognise their strengths, abilities, interests and to help them identify and reach their personal goals.
Occupational Therapy is part of the Support and Development Service which has a mission to provide opportunities and support to strengthen and encourage wellness in the community. These include:

- Community Outreach
The Support and Development Team follows the Charles Rapp Strengths Model principles and the key recovery concepts developed by Mary Ellen Copeland, ms, ma (2001) and the Mental Health Commission.

- Leisure/Recreational Participation
- Locating Agencies
- Getting Around the City
We also provide opportunities to work in groups, to develop strengths in areas of interest and receive mutual support from others within the group.

REFERRALS
- Complete the Support & Development application form (phone our central office to obtain a copy).
- Post the completed form to the PO Box address listed on the back of this brochure.
- An Occupational Therapist will phone you to arrange an initial meeting, where we will work together to develop your personal Occupational Therapy program.
- You are welcome to bring a support person or family / whanau to this meeting.
