WHO WE ARE
Te Kawenga offers a transitional mobile community based recovery support service in the Central and South Auckland areas.
The focus of Te Kawenga Services is to support people who experience mental illness, to move towards greater independence and community integration.
WHAT DO WE OFFER
- “We support clients / tangata whai ora to achieve independence and wellness.”
- Support Workers are trained in working with the Strengths Model.
- The Strengths Model is structured to provide clients with regular consultation and support in their journey toward greater wellness, independence and integration into the community.
- The Strengths Model allows you to work at your own pace. It is a step by step, pathway approach. Together, we will help you address any difficulties you need to overcome along the way.
- In addition we offer an “after hours” on-call service.
WHO CAN USE THIS SERVICE
Anyone over the age of 18 who experiences mental illness such as: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression or others. People can use this service as long as they have a current clinical key worker and meet minimal requirements.
REFERRALS
Just about anyone can make a referral to use our service. This could include yourself, your family / whanau, your GP, a nurse, a counselor or your psychiatrist.
